Here’s Some Pix!

Oh the weather outside is broiling,

But the kitchen’s still not cooking,

And since we’ve no fancy tricks,

Here’s some pix! Here’s some pix! Here’s some pix!

Baking and prep areas (from family room looking southwest)

Think light over baking was up in last pictures but light over peninsula was just put up tonight. Now to find the light we took down from the old breakfast area and want to put up in the pantry/oven area. No doubt it’s in one of my infamous “safe” places!

Progress Not Pictured

Countertop selected and ordered – measurements for template will be taken Friday morning.

Cardboard boxes removed from family room – some in recycle, some waiting for empty recycle bin, and some in garage to use to protect floors when they install the counter.

Majority of drawers lined and some things have found a home – though perhaps temporary.

Finished electrical wiring for peninsula area.

Family room floor cleaned and chairs back in family room.

  1. I like the colors and the lighting. It is really starting to look like a functioning kitchen. Hopefully before school starts it will be done!

  2. Okay, so I never knew what direction the house faced in the 16 years or whatever it was that I lived there. It looks like the old eating area is now covered with baking and prep now is that right? Cuz that is the window facing the backyard that Jared came crashing through when he tried to climb on the roof with out a ladder isn't it? Do you have an eating area now? Or just the formal dining room?

  3. Austin's Mommy you are oriented correctly. the window does face the backyard. The counter on the peninsula will extend a foot on the south and east(towards Longs) to serve as an eating area - or to sit and help prep and/or visit with the cook(s).

  5. I haven't been to your house in so long it is hard for me to remember--maybe it's time for another trip to San Antonio to check it out. You are making great progress, and it is a makeover worth documenting for sure. Anxiously awaiting the conclusion.
